Granny Smith’s Cinnamon Pear Applesauce

As you can tell by the name of this recipe, Granny Smith apples are used.

 

6 Granny Smith Apples

2 Pears (any kind, but I used de Anjou)

5 medjool dates, pitted

4 tablespoons Cinnamon

1 cup water

 

 

 

Peel, seed and core apples and pears

Roughly chop both apples and pears

Pit and roughly chop the dates

Combine all ingredients in a large pot and simmer on low for about 30 minutes.

I used a VitaMix blender to puree the mixture once it was done, but you can also use an immersion blender.

Allow to cool before transferring to storage container.  Makes about 2 cups of sauce.
